QUALITY OBJECTIVES
The Biosafety Training and Accreditation Department is committed in ensuring safe development, transfer, handling and use of genetically modified organisms. In doing so, the Department shall endeavor to conduct specialized training to stakeholders as required in Regulations, Certification and Accreditation. The Division has established the following quality objectives;
1. To conduct biosafety training and capacity building programs at least once every quarter to either of the following target groups: regulatory agencies, Institutional Biosafety Committees (IBCs) or other stakeholders, during the 2016/2017 financial year.
2. To inspect all containment facilities and confined field trial sites prior to commencement of the approved genetically modified organisms (GMO) projects.
3. To develop and submit five (5) funding proposals during the 2016/2017 financial year.
4. To Maintain Compliance and ensure continual improvement of the Quality Management System based on ISO 9001:2008 Standard.
5. To provide data analysis and progress reports and implementation of Strategic Plan 2016-2020 and Performance Contract targets to the Chief Executive Officer’s Office by the 10th of every month.
